Well, this will be my final post in my blog. I must say, this assignment has been a little bit difficult for me to complete. First of all, I really don't like to share my personal life out on the Internet. When I think about a blog, I generally think of one where a person is describing personal things about their life and asking for feedback. And that's where the conversation begins. However, I will say that because this was out of my comfort zone, it forced me to talk about things in my own blog or when I would respond to others. That would be something that I enjoyed out of this assignment. Hopefully others have felt the same.
Hopefully you all have enjoyed the class and enjoyed my blogs. Good luck to you all!!!

Riding Out the Storm
How about those crazy couple of days of tornado weather?!?! This past week I was actually out of town and had no idea that anything was going on until Wednesday around lunch time. My husband, who was here, did not to tell me how bad things were because he knows how bad I do not like these types of storms. He did not want me to worry when there was nothing I could do about it. When I finally did hear what was going on I was very worried that something would happen and I would be miles away. Thank goodness the storm passed over where we live.
On Tuesday morning, I was watching the news and a woman who lives in Joplin was being interviewed. It was herself, her boyfriend, and her son who was in the bathtub and survived the storm. In her interview, she told her son to get his bike helmet right before the storm hit. It was a good thing she did because her bathroom toilet came out of the floor and smacked him in the head and hit her in the back. This is something I could not even imagine!!! My thoughts go out to those people in Joplin as I cannot even fathom handling a situation like this.
Does anyone have any terrifying storm stories that they have experienced?

We Survived!!!
Well, the Rapture that was predicted to occur yesterday at 6:00pm did not occur. This has been the talk of news, media, radio, internet buzz, etc for the last several weeks now. Although everyone has their own beliefs about what will happen when the world will end, I did not believe it was going to happpen yesterday. And I am not trying to downplay other's beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own set of beliefs. I do not belive that one person can predict exactly when the world will come to an end.
But at the same time, I am interested in hearing other's viewpoints on this topic.
What are some other thoughts on this topic?

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Love-Child Scandal
Last week, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzennegger announced they were divorcing after 25 years of marriage. News also broke out that Arnold had an affair with the couple's housekeeper and got her pregnant. This is a secret that he has kept for nearly 10 years! This women lived in their home for 20 years and he kept this a secret! How does someone keep that secret for 10 years?!?! Not to mention, Schwarzennegger probably has not treated this boy as one of his own children.
In my opinion, I think Schwarzennegger deserves everything he is getting and good for Shriver divorcing him! She is also setting an example for women all over that this kind of behavior should not be tolerated. Women shouldn't have to put up with this kind of behavior and be treated in this kind of manner.
But I can't help but feel sorry for Schwarzennegger and Shriver's four children. What an awful thing to have to witness your parents going through. When this has been the family those kids have grown up and been raised with, suddenly it has all changed.
This is something, I could not even dream about in my wildest dreams happening to my family. What are your thoughts around this topic? Has anyone experienced something very traumatic like this before?

What Should I Do?
This December, I will be finished with my degree at Avila. When I first started back to school I really had no interest in walking at the graduation ceremony. Now that it is getting closer, I cannot make up my mind. There is no reason why I do not want to walk, but I do not want to regret it later on in life. This is something that I have really been thinking about and I think it is because I knew people that just graduated and walked yesterday. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on this decision? Has anyone else had these same thoughts?

To Text or Not to Text...
There was an interesting article that I found on the Fox 4 News website about Missouri changing the law on texting while driving (If you click on the image, it should pull up a bigger font to read). Currently, the law states that anyone under the age of 21 cannot read a message or text while driving. In my opinion, it should not matter your age when it comes to texting and driving.
Last year, a co-worker of mine was telling me that he watched an Oprah show on this topic. During the show, they had a simulator showing someone texting and driving and someone who was drunk and driving. The vision of the person who was texting and driving was more impaired than the vision of the person who was drunk and driving. Before he told me the outcome, I would have though it would have been the person who was drunk and driving.
This seems to be an interesting topic going on today. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Royals Game
Saturday night, my husband and I went to the Royals Game and sat in the Crown Seats. It was really fun to be so close to the Royals dugout. That night, we got to see Eric Hosmer get his first professional career hit. I'm not a huge sports fan, but it was neat to witness someone who was drafted this year get his first hit. He is only 21 too! Plus the Royals won, so that made the game more enjoyable. And the weather - you couldn't ask for better weather!
